Our Story
Westside Build was founded on a simple observation: residential construction had been left behind.
In commercial construction, complexity is expected, so the systems evolved. Problems get solved before construction begins. Teams are integrated. Decisions are modeled, not guessed. Residential never made that leap. Architects, builders, consultants, and vendors still operate independently, with misaligned incentives and limited coordination. What gets designed isn’t always what gets built. What gets priced isn’t always what it costs.
Our founders came at this gap from two directions. Rob Kilian and Chris Kabatsi met while studying architecture and engineering. Their shared obsession with how complex structures come together led them to architectural fabrication and to co-founding Arktura, a global design and manufacturing company built on system-level thinking that they sold in 2020. At the same time, Tzvika Diner and David Malka were building high-end homes across Los Angeles through DM Premier Group, with three decades of experience in one of the most complex housing markets in the country. They knew exactly where the residential process broke down, and why.
From completely different paths, they reached the same conclusion: the way homes are built hasn’t kept up with everything else we know how to build. Westside Build was created to rebuild the system, not just deliver another house.
That mission became personal in early 2025. When Chris Kabatsi lost his home in the Palisades fires, he was facing the same broken process he had spent his career studying. Today, Westside Build is one of the most active builders on the Westside, managing one of the largest rebuild portfolios in the Palisades.

The most expensive homes are the ones no one fully controls. Most residential builds are designed and constructed in fragments, across dozens of teams and thousands of decisions, with no single point of accountability. That is how cost overruns happen, timelines slip, and the experience of building a home becomes something to survive rather than something to be proud of. We own the process end-to-end. Through DG Lumber, we source materials directly from the mill. Across the region, we operate fabrication facilities, warehouses, and storage yards, protecting every client from delays, scarcity, and pricing volatility that an independent builder cannot absorb.
